Borjomi 

Borjomi is a resort town in south-central Georgia with a population of 10,546. It is one of the districts of the Samtskhe-Javakheti region and is situated in the northwestern part of the region in the picturesque Borjomi Gorge on the eastern edge of the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park.

The climatic health and spa resort Borjomi is situated in the Mtkvari river plain, in the forested valley with the rivers Borjomula and Gujaretistskali. It stretches over an area of ​​more than 600hectares. The main treatment at the resort is mineral spring water. Favorable conditions for this treatment are inherent in several Borjomi areas: Likani, Phapha, Plateau. The chemical composition of the mineral waters are attributed to carbonic acid sodium and are used mainly for drinking, treatment, bath procedures, inhalations, gastric intestinal lavage, and as medicinal table water in the non-resort conditions.

Another medical resource at the resort is climatotherapy. Climatotherapy operates all year round though the best time for this procedure is June through October. Village of Nabeghlavi famous with mineral springs is located en route from Chokhatauri to Bakhmaro. The spring of Nabeghlavi was discovered in 1905. According to hearsay, attention of the local population

Nabeghlavi is known as analogue of Borjomi. It is a hydrocarbon sodium mineral table drinking water which is used for therapy. Nabeghlavi cures alimentary system, liver (including chronic hepatitis), gall and urine duct system diseases, as well as metabolism disorders (including diabetes).

The main difference between Nabeglavi and Borjomi water is the increased content of magnesium-ion-  in “Nabeglavi” it is several times more, and chlorine at the same time 3 times less. These also vary mineral water on the content of sulfate ions in the water Nabeglavi it 130-200 mg/dm3, and in the Borjomi- a total of 3-10 mg/dm3.
